Not at all. Most clients come to us with a feeling, a few reference images, or simply a sense that the garden is not working for them. Our role is to help uncover what matters most, understand how you want to live, and translate that into a clear design direction.

We work primarily on high-end residential gardens, including new builds, complete garden transformations, planting-led projects and architect-designed homes. For clients who are still exploring what their garden could become, the Garden Direction Half-Day offers a more considered place to begin before committing to a full commission.

How much should I expect to invest in my garden?
Every project is different, but our full Garden Commission is best suited to clients planning a substantial landscape investment, with construction investment typically from approximately $60,000 and increasing depending on scale, access, retaining, pools, materials and complexity.

When should I engage a landscape architect?
Earlier than most people think. If you are building or renovating, involving landscape design before key decisions are fixed can create a much stronger relationship between the house and garden, while helping avoid costly changes to levels, retaining, drainage, pool placement, access and services later.

Do you stay involved during construction?
Yes. We remain involved through construction to help protect the design intent, coordinate with the builder, review key decisions and resolve design questions as they arise. The aim is that you are not left interpreting the drawings or managing the design alone once work begins.

Will a considered garden be high-maintenance?
It does not have to be. Maintenance is considered from the beginning alongside planting density, mature size, water needs, material choices and the way the garden will evolve over time. The aim is to create a garden that feels abundant and alive without becoming another thing you have to constantly manage.

Once you enquire, we review the details of your property, budget, timing and what you are hoping to achieve.
